This Privacy Policy explains how Jaap Counter (“Jaap Counter”, “the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our iOS application.
We respect your privacy and aim to provide clear information about the data that may be processed when you use the App, including information processed for advertising, subscriptions, notifications, and App functionality.
1. Information We Collect and Process
1.1 Information Stored on Your Device
Most of your personal practice information is stored locally on your device and is not associated with a user account on our servers.
This may include:
- Jaap/mantra counts
- Streaks and practice history
- App preferences
- Language preferences
- Appearance settings
- Notification and reminder preferences
- Favorites and saved selections
- Custom mantra or audio selections that you choose to save locally
We do not require you to create an account to use the core functionality of Jaap Counter.
1.2 Device and Technical Information
Depending on the features you use and third-party services enabled in the App, limited technical information may be processed to operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
Such information may include device type, operating system version, App version, technical diagnostics, network information, advertising identifiers where permitted, and other technical information required by third-party SDKs.
2. Advertising and Google AdMob
Jaap Counter uses Google AdMob to display advertisements within the App.
Google AdMob is an advertising service provided by Google that may process certain information from your device in order to deliver, measure, limit, personalize, and protect advertising.
Depending on your device settings, consent choices, geographic location, applicable laws, and the advertising configuration used by the App, information processed by AdMob may include:
- Advertising identifiers, including Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA), where you have granted permission
- Device information
- IP address and general network information
- App and device information
- Ad interaction information
- Approximate geographic information derived from technical information, where permitted
- Information relating to ad requests, impressions, clicks, and advertising measurement
- Other information necessary for advertising delivery, security, fraud prevention, and reporting
Google may use this information to provide and measure advertisements, prevent fraud and abuse, improve advertising services, and, where permitted and applicable, provide personalized advertising.

3. App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
Jaap Counter may request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.
The ATT permission may be requested when the App or an advertising SDK needs permission to access Apple's advertising identifier or engage in activities that Apple defines as tracking.
The ATT request may appear when you first launch the App or before advertising functionality that requires the applicable permission is used.
If you select Allow, the App and applicable advertising services may use the permitted advertising identifier and related information for advertising and measurement purposes, subject to applicable laws, your other privacy choices, and the configuration of the advertising services.
If you select Ask App Not to Track, the App will not use the IDFA for tracking purposes covered by Apple's ATT framework.
Refusing ATT permission does not prevent you from using the core functionality of Jaap Counter. You may continue to receive advertisements, but advertisements may be less personalized and advertising measurement or functionality may be limited.
You can change your tracking permission later through your iOS device settings where supported by Apple.
Apple defines “tracking” as linking data collected from the App with data collected from other companies' apps, websites, or offline properties for targeted advertising or advertising measurement purposes, or sharing data with data brokers.

4. Personalized and Non-Personalized Advertising
Depending on your consent, device settings, applicable laws, and geographic location, advertisements shown in Jaap Counter may be personalized or non-personalized.
Where personalized advertising is permitted and you provide the required permissions or consent, advertising partners may use permitted information to make advertisements more relevant to you and to measure advertising performance.
Where personalized advertising is not permitted, is declined by you, or is otherwise unavailable, advertisements may be delivered using non-personalized methods.
The availability and type of advertising may vary depending on your region, consent status, device settings, and the configuration of Google's advertising services.
5. Advertising Consent and Regional Privacy Requirements
Users located in certain jurisdictions may receive additional consent or privacy choices relating to advertising and the processing of personal information.
For example, Google may display consent messages or other privacy controls to users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, and certain U.S. states or other jurisdictions where additional legal requirements apply.
These choices may affect whether personalized advertising is available and what information may be processed for advertising purposes.
Where applicable, Jaap Counter uses Google's consent-management mechanisms and/or other applicable consent mechanisms to respect relevant advertising consent requirements.

6. Push Notifications
If you choose to enable push notifications, Jaap Counter may use OneSignal to deliver notifications.
OneSignal may process device and push-subscription identifiers and other technical information necessary to deliver notifications.
You can disable push notifications at any time through your iOS device settings.
7. Local Notifications and Reminders
If you enable daily reminders or similar reminder features, the App may schedule notifications locally on your device.
Reminder preferences, including reminder time and enabled or disabled status, may be stored locally on your device.
8. Remote Devotional Content
Certain devotional content, including aarti, chalisa, mantra, shlok, audio, listings, or related content, may be requested from our content infrastructure at purandata.vinvite.in.
When you request such content, the App may communicate with our servers to retrieve and deliver the requested content.
Technical information associated with a network request, such as IP address and standard server request information, may be processed by our hosting or infrastructure providers as part of delivering and securing the service.
9. Apple In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
Jaap Counter offers optional paid features through Apple's In-App Purchase system, including auto-renewable subscription plans such as Monthly and Yearly subscriptions.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store.
We do not receive or store your full payment card number, bank account details, or other payment credentials used by Apple to process your purchase.
Apple may provide the App with information necessary to determine whether a purchase or subscription is valid and whether premium features should be made available to you. This may include transaction, subscription, product, purchase-status, or entitlement information.
Subscription and transaction information may be used to:
- Verify purchases and subscriptions
- Provide premium features
- Restore eligible purchases
- Determine subscription status
- Prevent unauthorized access to premium features
- Provide purchase-related support
10. How We Use Information
Information processed by Jaap Counter or its service providers may be used to:
- Provide the App's core functionality
- Store and display your practice information
- Maintain your preferences
- Provide reminders and notifications
- Deliver devotional content requested by you
- Display advertisements
- Deliver personalized or non-personalized advertising where applicable
- Measure advertising performance

11. Third-Party Services
Jaap Counter may use third-party services necessary to operate certain features of the App.
Apple
Apple provides the App Store, In-App Purchase and subscription infrastructure, and platform services used by the App.
Google AdMob
Google AdMob provides advertising services and may process device, advertising, and ad-interaction information as described in this Privacy Policy.
OneSignal
OneSignal may be used to deliver push notifications when enabled.
Content and Hosting Providers
Our hosting and content infrastructure providers may process technical request information necessary to provide requested devotional content and operate the service.
12. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information directly.
However, third-party advertising providers such as Google may process information through their advertising SDKs for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention, and related purposes as described in their applicable policies.
Depending on your consent and applicable law, advertising information may be shared with or processed by Google and its advertising partners.
We may also permit access to limited information by service providers when reasonably necessary to operate the App, including:
- Apple, for App Store and subscription services
- Google, for advertising services
- OneSignal, for push notification delivery
- Hosting and content-delivery providers
- Professional advisers or service providers where reasonably necessary
We may also disclose information where required by applicable law, legal process, governmental request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, security, safety, or property of users, the App, or others.
13. Data Retention
Information stored locally on your device generally remains there until you delete it, reset the relevant App data, or uninstall the App, subject to Apple's operating-system behavior and any information stored in the iOS Keychain.
Advertising-related information may be retained and processed by Google and its partners according to their applicable policies and retention practices.
Transaction and subscription records associated with App Store purchases may be retained by Apple according to Apple's applicable policies and legal requirements.
Information processed by other service providers may be retained according to their applicable policies, contractual obligations, and legitimate operational requirements.
14. Your Privacy Choices
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing.
You can also:
- Choose whether to allow tracking when Apple's ATT prompt is displayed
- Change tracking permissions through iOS Settings where available
- Disable push notifications through iOS Settings
- Change applicable device permissions
- Disable or change local reminders within the App where available
- Manage advertising preferences through available Google or device controls
- Uninstall the App to remove most locally stored App data
- Manage or cancel subscriptions through Apple's subscription settings
- Request information regarding personal data that we may control
- Request deletion of personal information that we control, subject to applicable legal requirements
Please note that certain information processed directly by third-party providers, such as Google or Apple, may need to be managed through those providers' own privacy and account-management tools.
15. Children's Privacy
Jaap Counter is not specifically directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 for the purpose of operating an account or profile.
Because Jaap Counter displays advertisements through Google AdMob, advertising treatment for users who are known to be children must be configured consistently with applicable laws and Google's policies.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us. We will take reasonable steps to investigate and, where appropriate, delete such information.
16. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information processed by the App and our services.
However, no method of electronic transmission, storage, or processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
17. International Data Processing
Jaap Counter is operated from India.
If you use the App from another country, information may be processed in India or other countries where Apple, Google, OneSignal, or our service providers operate.
Where required by applicable law, appropriate safeguards will be applied to international transfers of personal information.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, advertising services, subscription functionality, our data practices, or applicable law.
When changes are made, we will update the Effective Date displayed at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.
Where required by applicable law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes.
