Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Jaap Counter (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our iOS application.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information stored on your device
Most of your practice-related information stays on your device and is not synced to a cloud account. This may include:
- Jaap counts, streaks, and practice history
- App preferences (such as language, appearance, and notification settings)
- Favorites and saved selections within the App
- Custom mantra or audio choices you add locally
We do not require you to create an account to use the App.
1.2 Device identifiers
The App may store a device identifier locally (including in the iOS Keychain) to support app functionality and, where applicable, push notification delivery. This identifier is not used to sell your personal information.
1.3 Push notifications (OneSignal)
If you enable push notifications, we use OneSignal to deliver notifications to your device. OneSignal may process device and subscription-related identifiers needed to send pushes. OneSignal’s handling of data is also governed by its own privacy policy.
1.4 Local notifications
If you enable daily reminders, the App schedules local notifications on your device. Reminder preferences (such as time and on/off state) are stored on your device.
1.5 Remote content requests
When you access certain devotional content (such as aarti, chalisa, mantra, or shlok audio and listings), the App requests that content from our content server at purandata.vinvite.in. These requests are made to deliver content to you. We do not use this content delivery to sell your personal information.
1.6 What we do not collect
The App is not designed to collect:
- Account login credentials (no user accounts)
- Precise location data
- Camera or photo library data
- Contacts
- Advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking
2. How We Use Information
We use information as needed to:
- Provide core App features (counting, stats, preferences, favorites)
- Deliver local and push notifications you opt into
- Fetch and play remote devotional content you request
- Maintain and improve App reliability and user experience
3. Analytics and Third-Party Services
The App does not use third-party advertising networks.
We do not offer in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Analytics and operational data may be limited to:
- Apple platform services (for example, standard App Store and device-level diagnostics as provided by Apple)
- OneSignal (for push notification delivery and related service operation)
We do not use a separate standalone analytics product beyond the services listed above.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited information only:
- With service providers that help us operate the App (such as OneSignal for push delivery), subject to their policies and our instructions
- When required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or the App
5. Data Retention
Practice data and preferences stored on your device remain there until you change or remove them, or until you uninstall the App. Some data stored in the iOS Keychain may persist until cleared by you or the operating system.
Information processed by third-party services is retained according to their policies and our operational needs.
6. Your Choices and Rights
You can:
- Turn daily reminders on or off in App settings
- Manage push notification permissions in iOS Settings
- Reset or change preferences within the App where available
- Uninstall the App to remove on-device data (subject to Keychain behavior noted above)

7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
8. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International Users
The App is operated from India. If you use the App from outside India, your information may be processed in India and in locations where our service providers operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the App where appropriate. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
